The EarthTeam van is up and moving! San Lorenzo High Interns took their first field outing during an internship meeting back to Oyster Bay, where they completed an exploration hike while recording litter data along the way.

“The purpose of the Oyster Bay field outing was to clean up the bay and take care of our community. What had made this event fun was that I was out in nature cleaning up with really cool people. I love being with nature and taking care of our environment and community is actually a soothing thing to do.

We were cleaning up any trash that was left at Oyster Bay. It was a great feeling to be able to clean up the bay. Personally I don’t like anything looking dirty because it disturbs me so after I got done cleaning I felt good and proud of myself. I felt this way because it actually looked better without all that trash everywhere.

Joining EarthTeam is really fun. This internship does amazing things for the community. It’s something good you can do if you don’t do anything after school because you can use your time usefully instead of wasting your time. ” – Anthony Villatoro

We are looking forward to using the EarthTeam van to get out more into the community.
